Some years ago Dr Bettes, the Corporate Medical Director of American Airline pilots had presented results of a self monitoring program. The pilots had self monitored their blood pressure and weight and reported significant improvement in BP control. They were even able to adjust medication to get flight certification. Some were able to prevent being grounded. What was impressive was the increase in medication compliance.
